General What is Igottalist and how does it work? IgottaList is the gift registry for every time in your life. Weddings, birthday's or just because. Get what you want. We think it's about time.Is there a limit to the number of lists I can have? There is no limit to the number of lists you can have in your account. For some people, 1 list will work. Update the list for each new holiday or event. For some, you'll want to create different lists to:• Track your dream vacations • Create a book reading list • One gift list for your family • One gift list for your friends • One very special list just for your spouse or significant other Do you share users’ email addresses with anyone else? IgottaList will never sell or share your email address. Our only reason for collecting that information is to make sure you can receive notifications of activity on your igottaList.How do people find one or all of my Igottalist lists? It's easy for others to find your lists on igottaList by using the search function. If your lists are public, the names of your lists will display. The searcher can click on the list name and go right to it to purchase a gift for you.If you have private lists, those show up as “private”. There is a function that allows the searcher to send an email to you requesting access to your private lists. If you do not know the requestor, ignore the request. How can I fnd the Wish List of someone I know? You can find your friends on igottaList by using the search function.Groups What are Igottalist groups? Groups are a way of gathering a set of lists in one place. It might be for your family, a group of friends, a club or your classroom. You can then share the Group with friends and family.How do I create a group? To create a group list/group page, log-in to igottaList and click on “add lists” in the top navigation bar. Name your list, select an occasion if appropriate and click on “group list”.How do I add my existing lists to my group page/list? When you add a new group list, you will see a list drop-down of all of your existing lists. You can add all or none of your lists to your new group page/list.How do I add other people's lists to my group page/list? There are 2 different ways to add other people's lists to your group page/list.1. Go to search in the top navigation bar. Search for your friends' or family's lists. The search results will reflect your friends lists. Click on “add to group page”. Select which list to add to your group page. If you have more than 1 group page, you will also need to select which group to add your friends list to. 2. Go to your group page/list and click on the link “add members' lists” in the left hand navigation bar. Type in the members name and select which list you want to add. 3. Friends and family can also search on igottaList for your group list. They can then send you a message asking to join your group. You'll find these requests in your notifications(click on top nav bar). How do I quit a group? When you delete your list, it will be deleted from all groups it is associated with. When you delete a list, the items will remain so you can easily move them to another list within “manage my stuff”.Creating, Editing and Sharing Lists What kinds of lists can I create? You can create lists for any occasion. Here are a few we’ve thought of but we know you’ll think of even more reasons to start an igottaList:
How do I add items to a list? You can add gifts to your list in two ways. The easiest way is to use the igottaGrabit toolReview your photo, title and description to be sure they are accurate. Edit as needed. The more accurate your item title and description is, the better our shopping tool will work for people wanting to buy the item for you. You can also add items that are not on-line Can I remove the Igottalist buttons from my browser? It’s easy to delete the igottaList bookmarks from your toolbar. Just go to your browser’s “manage bookmarks” link. Highlight the igottaList bookmarks and select “delete”.How do I make a list private? To create a private list, select “make my list private” when you create the list. You can also change a list from private to public or public to private by going to “manage my stuff”. Select manage lists. Then select the list you want to change by clicking on “edit”. Change your list from public to private or visa versa.How do I delete a list? To delete a list go to “manage my stuff”. Select “manage lists”. Find the list you want to delete and click delete to the far right.This will delete the list but your items will remain. How do I move or delete items on my list? You can move or delete items by going to “manage my stuff” and select “manage items”. Find the item you want to move or delete. To delete an item, click the delete button. To move an item to another list, click on “edit” on the far right. You’ll see a drop down of all your lists. Select one or more lists and click “save changes”.How do I change the name of my list? To change the name of a list, go to “manage my stuff” and select “manage lists”. Find the list you want to update and click the “edit” button to the far right. Update the list name and click “save changes”.How do I edit the description, title or photo of an item on my list? To edit the description, name or photo of your list, go to “manage my stuff” and select “manage lists”. Find the list you want to update and click the “edit” button to the far right. Update the name, description or photo and click “save changes”.What are tags and how do I add them to an item on my list? Tags are a way to categorize your items. They are used to search for items. When you add an item with the igottaGrabit tool, you can add tags. If you want to add tags after you’ve added an item to your list, go to “manage my stuff” then “manage items”. Find the item you want to edit and click “edit”.How do I change an existing igottaList list from individual to shared? You can change an existing list from individual to shared. A shared list is like a wedding registry. Two people share the same list and have access to update items.To change a list from individual to shared or visa versa, go to “manage my stuff” and select “manage lists”. Find the list that you want to change and click on “edit”. You can then select individual or shared. An individual list cannot be changed to a group. Friends and Sharing How do I invite my friends to join igottaList? Inviting your friends to join igottaList is easy. Click on “tell a friend” in the bottom navigation bar.How do I invite my friends and family to view my list? There are 2 ways to share your igottaList with your friends and family.1. Log-in to igottaList. From “my home” click on “share now” to send an invitations. 2. From a group list, go to “invite a non-member” If I want to share my list with friends, do they have to first sign up for IgottaList? Your friends and family do not have to join igottaList in order to view your list and purchase gifts for you. But we’re betting they’ll want to anyway! |
